A little while ago I told you that Spider-Man 4 was going to single handedly end unemployment, thanks to the constant stream of different writers it has put on the Columbia Pictures bankroll. Apparently one hired gun that was let off the job has found a new home... in Spider-Man 5 and 6. Maybe I was a little more right about it than I thought?

James Vanderbilt was tossed from the Spider-Man 4 scripting once they realized a two part story could not be done for 4 and 5. With the unclear future of the franchise for both director Sam Raimi, and the original cast, Spider-Man 5 may serve as a new start for the series. With the bad taste that Spider-Man 3 left in my and many other mouths, I don't think that is such a bad idea. Those resistant to movie change should remember that in the comic-book world new writers, artists, and editors are brought in for new story arcs all the time, so this shouldn't be a shock to us fanboys.
